Well I will start off by saying im suppose to be at work today and I will admit that I had a few too many wobbly pops last night and stayed in bed this morning.I thought I would give myself a long weekend cheers
I get up this morning and thought to myself I might as well go in to my hunting spot and change the card in my camera.I have not seen a turkey in here since the spring and nor did I manage to get one on Camera.Anyways its just a 5 min drive and I thought what the heck I might as well take my gun even though I had little hope of seeing any birds.I get out of my truck and walk around the first corner of the field which takes about 20 yards to get there and I see a doe take off to my left and then all of a sudden I see 2 turkeys go the same way as the doe and another and another 3 or 4 take off in different directions.Im thinking where the heck did these guys come from and I know they all saw me.Just a few days ago I seen a few birds just accross the street and it must be them.Anyways I Walk down the trail to where those 2 turkeys went that followed the doe and I setup where I thought they might come out but I didnt have much faith as I knew they saw me.I get setup and pull my gloves out of my pocket but I cant find my mask No
This is now approx 10:15 and I say oh well if this is going to happen I have no mask so here I sit just inside a little bush and about 45 mins go by I look up and here is a bird no more than 10 yards away from me coming out of the bush.I couldnt have guessed it any better Very Happy
I put the gun up and boom as I didnt even know what sex it was I just wanted a bird. Then 4 or 5 more start flying up everywhere.I guess they all got back together that quickly.I go over and its a Gobbler with the beard measuring almost 8 inches.
I guess having a few Red Barrons last night and staying home from work today all panned out!
The picture isnt the greatest but who really cares!
I didnt expect this to happen today at all because I didnt get any trail camera pictures.Oh yeah I need to get another turkey mask as I cant find this one anywhere.I beleive I have a spare one here somewhere though.
Overall I had a fantastic week turkey hunting as I got to hunt with one of my good friends Adrian for a couple of days as well!
Good times!

Great story and pic. The best hunter is the lucky one and with the skill to make the luck work.
