| Got a call this morning from a friend to go out on a afternoon hunt at his property. It was a fantastic evening in the stand. We got there at 3:25 and creeped into the stand and right at 3:35 we have a doe and fawn at 25 yards and he told me that if this situation came up that he wanted me to shoot the fawn but it didnt happen as they went back in the bush and didnt present the right shot for me. Right at 4:30 he gives me a little nudge and says here comes 3 deer, a different doe and fawn and what seemed to be a dry doe which was the bigger of the three. It felt like a hour for her to give me a best broadside shot but my friend who had the rangefinder pointed right at her whispered 28 yards perry and so I let her fly and we had a doublelung shot and what we figured a 60 yard recovery! It was a fun season passing on a few does during the rut but I couldnt wait anymore. Those slicktrick broadheads are simply the best in my opnion!Oh yeah the wife is happy also that the season is done for me!Now I can say I had a great year killing my deer,3 turkeys and my first bear! Does it get any better? [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |
