Well I was sitting at my pc this morning when I hear a bleating fawn, it called twice, loud about 10 sec each time. I look out the window can't see anything but I know were the sound came from [the thickest part of the scrub], I am looking that way, when from the oppisite direction this doe comes running [thru my yard] and stops at the edge [my yard is bordered by brush and long grass] looking the same direction I am, ears picked up very intent but no other calls are heard, just then some geese start from the pond behind the house, the doe at the first sound wipped around to face that direction then dissmisses the sound and continues to look were the fawn bleats came from then slowly makes its way to the back of the yard still looking in the direction of the calls but going the oppisite way. Iam sure the fawn wasn't hers because she had no idea where the fawn call came from, just a general direction, a doe would remember the spot she put her fawn. So now I know for sure that if you used a fawn bleat when looking to take a doe, if there was one around [doe] she would come running.
