Identify the animal

They are having quite a debate on another forum that I go on, as to what this animal is. There is also a huge controversy whether mountain lions exist in New England, USA. This Photo was taken in Massachusetts, which is part of New England. Please identify this species.

Guesses have been bobcat, mountain lion and doe.

Oneshot, after looking carfully as I can I think this is a pic of a deer. Heres why, a cat has short round ears and the neck is also very short the back and front legs in a cat are much rounder packed with muscle for the cats attack method. The legs, ears and neck length all point to it being a whitetail deer.

Final, I agree on everything you said, except I believe cats have pointed ears, and deer have rounded lobes. I believe it is a young doe also, but the pointed ears throw me off. Other things that throw me off is that the animal is fairly close to the ground, eyes are big, and snout is short. However, a young doe will have a short snout. So, I think it is a doe also. Neck is kinda too long to be a cat also. Thanks for your input Final.

I don't like to disagree but if you search cougar [4 feet] all pics will show round ears.

I was thinking of the Bobcats ears, seeing that Cougars do not exist in Massachusetts where the photo was taken. However, I don't know how to transfer pics to a post.

No problem one shot, you can upload pics easy, just choose a pic host, such as photo bucket, load your pics there, then its just one click to copy and one click to paste for all aplications, email, img ect, [Img is what you use for posts] its all there for you to use. Yes all 12 sub species of Bobcats have pointed ears, they have a distinct fur pattern with black bars on the fore legs and a black tipped stubby tail, the tail being the reason for the name. Even as small as they are [ about twice the size of a domestic cat] they have been known to hunt deer. Some people think that they are the same as Lynx but are not.
