The heated socks work great.One D cell per sock and you are good to go for sitting in the cold for an extended period of time with toasty feet. I also purchased a pair of heated gloves. They are no **** good at all. The fingers don't heat up, just at your wrist where the batteries are. Back to the drawing board on that one.

Thanks for the info, what brand socks how much ? also what brand gloves.

I won a pair of the heated gloves in a fishing derby once, but never really got to try them. The kids got to them first and I never seen them again.
