I was out with my dog on Monday and we came across the bones of two fawns, fifty yards apart. Really hard walking even with snow shoes as they break through the snow. These deer met their demise in their bedding area.

Yes it is a grim find and there is going to be a lot more like it I am afraid. This winter is really going to take it's toll on the deer herds, especially the fawns. To harvest a deer next fall you are going to have to hunt real hard.

I've been out looking for sheds a few times this year and have come across a few piles of bones so far. I think the farther north you go, the worse it will be. Our snow is going fast but its still snowing in northern ont.
Found one shed so far but its not the one I'm looking for.
