PostSubject: Moose are they up or down?   Thu Dec 31, 2015 5:37 am

Hello, I live in the Algonquin Highlands, the Moose in my area are on the decline. I am not sure if its the cycle or because the habitat is being changed a lot around here lately,people moving in building up the area. I hope its just the cycle for the other hunters here, as I will soon be in another province this was most likely my last year to hunt Ontario.

Moose numbers are really down in most parts of the Province. It is mainly due to a couple bad winters and the big problem is wolf predation. Wolf numbers are through the roof and so is the bear numbers. Until those numbers come down the moose and deer populations are going to stay low.
