| Your food plot looks GREAT. Ive got a question, I've never planted a food plot and a lot of the info on the internet is specific to the South. Is it too late to start a food plot that will produce for this season? What type of food plot will grow best in our area?? | |

| Hi Ned, I know people out your way, they have planted sweet beets ,soya beans, clover mix [red, white] brassica ect the deer loved it. you can buy seed for our area at most farmers supply mills they can also tell you what is best and when, how to plant it. spring wheat can be planted in the fall. but I don't think it will produce much until next year [on this I am not sure] I would say clover would be your best bet if you can get it in right away there should be some attraction for the deer. I also know that deer out your way respond to baled hay if they have a chance to get used to it being there,if you sprinkle come mere deer on it or buck grub they will hit it hard. Hope that helps. | |

| Thanks guys. Not too late to plant Ned. Your main issue will be getting enough rain through the rest of summer. | |

| Not much of food plot now. The deer have been hitting the brassica now that it is sweet. I wish I had planted more of it. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] | |

| Well the food you planted have fed the deer which was the intent and to fatten them up for winter. It is almost time for them to switch over to brouse mode and start to feed on branch tips. It was great to see the progression of the plot through the year. | |
