Almost time

We're getting closer. Will be interesting to see how this season pans out.

I was working in a new area with lots of turkeys, they are in full strut mode,[ seen two] with lots of gobbling going on.

They're rare to see down where I am. But a few guys I know have been seeing them doing the same thing.

Where I hunt in 76C in the Springwater Township area, I'm not seeing any turkeys. Talking to a farmer last year in this area, she asked me where have all the turkeys disappeared to ? The turkey population in this area has been on the decline the past three years. The WMU 76 as a whole used to have one of the largest populations in Ontario. Makes you wonder what the heck happened.

When traveling south of here, I also usually see a lot of turkeys in certain areas like port Bolster Virginia Beach and Brown Hill but have not even seen one, don't know if the weather messed them up or did something happen?

Wow, did I ever see lots of turkeys this past Sunday. It pays to sit in the passenger's seat for once... must have spotted eight different groups on an hour drive through Tiny Beaches, Barrie and down the 400. Seen some deer as well. Can't wait till I'm out hunting turkeys.
