| After a morning hunt with no ducks coming by our decoy setup, we hoped for better luck later in the day as a low pressure front was to roll in. It was a good opportunity to get some worked done for dad around camp before the evening hunt. I went for a short scout(5:30pm) down the shoreline to the next cove from dads place and spotted a flock of 20 ducks coming down the middle of the lake, and I'm thinking " I hope they spot the decoys ". About a minute later, my brother and dad opened up on them. The flock had made a hard right and dropped into dads cove, 30 ft from shore, right in front of two goose decoys. They got four mallards, two drakes and two hens. The next day( rain off and on) they dropped in the next cove over( 10:00am) and I got one drake. It was a great weekend and I am looking forward to some duck la'orange. Here's some pics : | |
