| Hi Hunters, I know most of you are from Canada. So, I'm wondering where ever your from, are you allowed to bait deer? If so, what is your most productive bait? I am In New Hampshire, USA, and we are allowed to bait deer in this state, however most hunters are not aware that it is legal as long as you apply for a permit and follow the guidelines. Oneshot | |

| Yes, we can bait. Apples, carrots, horse feed [oats with molasas] beet tops, corn and hay are what I have used with success. I start well before the season make it a regular pattern ie: place the bait out at the same time with the same equipment [bike, truck, tractor] bait the same way every time making whatever noise that is involved . yes the deer will patern you. its what you want. Why? you ask, this is another trick I use [based on that you are baiting a stand site] you do it this way every time, then when you are ready to hunt you have some else drive you to the site, bait it the same way you have been doing, then you sneak into the stand and the other person drives away making the deer think its all clear and dinner is served, hopfully not for just the deer. | |

| Good stuff Final I mix rolled oats and split corn, they clean it up pretty good. roasted soybeans, chicken scratch, of course apples, their fav food, but squirrels will take a lot of them. oats and barley mix I have tried "come mere deer" with some success. Now I found this recipe for home made " come mere deer", but I have not made it yet. So if you like to experiment, here you go : - hog shorts ( chopped corn mixture ) - powered milk - vanilla extract - roasted soybeans
oneshot - how much if any, is the permit ? What are the guide lines? Just curious.
