The deer are out to get me...

On the way home from work last night I dam near took out a hole deer family with my Outback Subaru (6:45pm). The buck and doe made it across the highway in front of me as I came to a complete stop and then the fawn walk past in front . Had I not noticed the deer in the ditch just previous, where I began dropping speed, at least two deer would be history and a right off Subaru. It was a decent antlered buck from what I could see of him.
I've never hit a deer yet with a vehicle but that was as close as you could get without hitting one. Good times.

Touch wood, 'Ive never hit one either, but was in a friends car when one hit us. Ran right into the front drivers side, flipped took out the mirror and dented the driver's door, flipped and dented the back quarter panel before rolling down the road. It was the follow up deer. The first one jumped over the hood and we were going 60 MPH. Funny part is less than a minute before my friend said, "Lots of deer around here. You watch the left side and I'll watch the right". He was correct. We backed up and jumped out to drag the deer off of the 4 lane highway but had to wait about a minute and a half for it to expire. At the time I wish I had a rifle to end it sooner but we were in the US and only had our golf clubs.
