Well it finally happened. After 20 years of commuting to Owen Sound, I had a collision with a deer. Monday night on Hyw 26 outside
of Collingwood. Damaged r/s headlight. grill, p/s line, hood. No sign of the doe other then some hair she left on the grill. Repairing Subaru
today.

Really tough break Tracer. It is amazing how much damage they can do. Hope you didn't get hurt.

Glad you are ok, tuff break having the deer get away and wrecking the transport. We had just bought an almost new Honda 4x4 last Sept, driving on the 118 towards Bracebridge a deer came right off a 10 ft high cliff, hit the side of the vehical just above the quarter panel, so high up the airbags failed to deploy. We paid 11 thousand, it cost 8 thousand to repair. The deer we hit spun around on the road from the hit, and the guy behind us in a large truck ran it over. When I moved it off the road it sounded like a wine skin full of liqui, so we left it there for the road crew to clean up.

there were almost no deer hit by vehs this fall in the Collingwood area, but since the snow has arrived, say 10 days ago, we are seeing them almost daily. quite a change from 8-10 yrs ago when we would see 100+ every year

The mild fall and December definitely had a major impact on deer movement. Good info Ned.

Yes the snow has really got the deer moving here also. The very cold weather we got in the past couple weeks helped also.
