moose hunt 2016

I hunted WMU 19 this year. Opening day we saw 2 cows (I had a cow tag) but couldn't get a shot off in time. The next day it was a parade of trucks running the road, including a large white cube van with 3 guys in it. We decided to change areas and the new area was pretty much all ours (no road hunters). The rest of the week was fairly quiet until the last afternoon when we did a drive and had a bull, a cow and a calf pretty much surrounded. Unluckily Murphy was on our back and they found a way to slip out through a jack pine plantation. We will likely go back once the snow flies and hopefully they are still in the same area.

Some good action with tough hunting. You guys will get them next time around.
Is road hunting a big problem in that area ? That would really ++++ me off.

Yes a real big problem. After opening day the moose go to the thick bush and stay away from the roads and cut overs as much as possible.
